Lake Tour ep1:Goolelall with Julia Jean

This art was made on Whadjuk Noongar land with respect to first nations community and elders past and present. Always was and always will be.

Episode 1. Goolelall with Julia Jean Goolelall is a Noogar word for listen. The wetlands and surrounds are full of wildlife with turtles, frogs, bugs, swans and snakes. There is never a silent moment. The lake used to be a hunting ground for First Nations people, as the water was meeting place for so many different types of wildlife. The lake is a protected area that prohibits entry into the water and close to the waters edge to protect all the plants and animals and keep this place untouched. It forces you to take a step back and appreciate the nature without being inside of it, and therefore destroying it. Appreciating the nature through distance and listening without the act of being and control. Julia Jean is a local artist in Boorloo. From screamo to pop, Julia finds whatever channel she needs to experience emotional release and invites the audience to witness this seance. Subscribe to WAYWARDpubl on YouTube to follow along the tour The lake tour follows a handful of local musicians playing music across different lakes around Boorloo.
